Kings Park Families,
It was wonderful connecting with so many families at last week’s Back To School Night and PTA Ice Cream Social/Community Resource Fair. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to meet classroom teachers and specialists and to learn more about the ways we partner to create a positive learning experience for all students. Classroom teachers' Back to School Night presentations are also available in Schoology so all families can review this important information at their convenience.
We’re excited to continue growing our family-school partnerships and hope to see many of you at this Friday's PTA Booster Fun Run. We also invite you to mark your calendars for our upcoming Morning Meeting, Attendance and Advanced Academic Programs Information sessions. Dates and information are highlighted in today’s newsletter. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.

Join Us for a Morning Meeting, Attendance and AAP Information Session
Join us for a Morning Meeting and to learn more about Attendance and Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) in FCPS and at Kings Park. Morning Meeting is an engaging way to foster a strong sense of community and belonging while setting students up for social and academic success. Each morning, students and teachers gather in a circle for the first twenty minutes of the day to connect through a Greeting, Sharing, Activity, and Morning Message.
Visit your child’s classroom to experience first-hand how Morning Meeting plays a critical role in your child’s day. Then, stay to hear about FCPS’s Advanced Academic Programs with Kings Park’s Advanced Academics resource teacher, Jamie Mucciolo.
Guardians are encouraged to participate on the following dates/times assigned by grade level:

Supporting Twice-Exceptional (2e) Learners
FCPS and Kings Park are committed to supporting our twice-exceptional (2e) learners — students who are both gifted and have learning challenges or disabilities. Strong partnerships and active communication between families and FCPS staff are key to helping 2e students thrive. This flyer showcases the range of services and resources available to support our twice-exceptional (2e) learners and their families.

The 2023-30 Strategic Plan Goal 2: Safe, Supported, Included and Empowered
FCPS’ 2023-30 Strategic Plan sets five main goals to create positive change in the division. These goals show where we should focus our attention and will help us align our efforts.
Fairfax County public schools are creating inclusive, supportive environments where every student feels known, valued, and connected — the second goal of the Strategic Plan. From mentoring to cross-grade collaboration, when students feel safe and supported, they can truly thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally. See how Goal 2 is being put into practice.

The schedule for the day is now available! Our school goal is to raise $50,000 to support student enrichment through family events, assemblies, peaceful spaces, updated specials materials and resources that connect learning between school and home. In addition, if 70% of students register at Kings Park school staff will participate in an inflatable race and at Kings Glen there will be an inflatable race between staff and Al E. Gator and the principal will work from the roof for one day! Register for free today at mybooster.com! Every student who registers will receive a prize and ALL students will receive a free t-shirt to wear on event day!
Booster Volunteers Needed! The Booster campaign is a lot of work and we could use your help! We need volunteers daily to help sort and distribute prizes as well as volunteers the day of the run. Please sign up here if you can. All volunteers will also need to register as a PTA Volunteer on the FCPS Volunteer site.
On September 18th, the PTA will host a "Bee Well" staff appreciation. We will be providing small wellness and self-care items to staff and would love your help with some healthy snack items. Please take a moment to review the Sign Up Genius and sign up to donate an item if you can!
Thank you to Bethany Portock and everyone that volunteered during our ice-cream social last Friday! We hope you enjoyed the sweet treat and left with plenty of helpful information.
