UAvionix unveils software upgrade for AV-20 displays
UAvionix has released a new software version for its AV-20-S and AV-20-E multifunction displays, enhancing pilot usability and performance. The update features a reengineered angle-of-attack system, expanded aircraft compatibility and a redesigned interface. Other improvements include a vintage-style analog clock and enhanced G-meter capabilities.

Bristell B23 trainer secures first FAA type certification
Czech Republic-based Bristell Aircraft has received Federal Aviation Administration Type Certification under Part 23 regulations for its two-seat B23 trainer, which already holds European Union Aviation Safety Agency CS-23 certification in Europe. "This first FAA certification enables us to address the pilot shortage crisis with modern training solutions," CEO and co-founder Martin Bristela says. "Flight schools need alternatives to aging fleets with 40-year-old designs. Additional B23 variants will follow this initial certification as we expand our certified portfolio."

Docuseries spotlights journey of aspiring fighter pilots
"Top Guns: The Next Generation," a six-part docuseries on National Geographic, follows eight Navy and Marine Corps student pilots through advanced phase training, including dogfighting and carrier landings. Lt. Andrew Seepe, who appears on the program, was inspired by air shows and the Blue Angels as a child and overcame a severe bee allergy to pursue his dream of flying an F-18 Super Hornet. Filmed primarily at Naval Air Station Meridian, the series aims to encourage future aviators by showing the challenges and achievements of aspiring pilots.
