Principal's Message

Dear Falcon Families,

One of the most important predictors of a child’s success in school is regular attendance. Every day matters! When students are in class consistently, they build strong relationships with teachers and peers, keep up with new learning, and develop the routines and habits that will carry them into middle school, high school, and beyond.

Even a few absences here and there can add up. Missing just two days a month adds up to nearly 20 days in a year—the equivalent of almost an entire month of instruction. That means missed opportunities to practice skills, participate in discussions, and build confidence in their learning.

We understand that sometimes absences are unavoidable due to illness or family emergencies. However, we encourage families to schedule vacations, appointments, and other activities outside of school hours whenever possible. Together, we can help every student at Westbriar take advantage of the learning opportunities they deserve.

Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority. When our Falcons show up, they soar!

Warmly,
Dr. Sallie Burch
