Annual EEO Public File Report Deadline in Several States
A friendly reminder that Oct. 1 is the deadline for broadcast stations licensed in Alaska, American Samoa, Florida, Guam, Hawaii, Iowa, the Mariana Islands, Missouri, Oregon, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Washington to place their Annual EEO Public File Report in their public inspection File and post the report on their station website.

House Committee Advances AM Radio Bill
The proposed legislation, introduced by Reps. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.) and Frank Pallone (D-N.J.), passed via a 50–1 vote after a markup and can now be scheduled for a vote by the full House. But as Elle Kehres explains, it came with an amendment, likely to appease automakers.

Nielsen: Spring Radio Audiences Up With AQH Modifier
We're seeing the first returns from Nielsen's three-minute qualifier modernization in audience measurement. Among persons 25–54, total U.S. AM/FM radio AQH has grown by 6 percent, with a 19 percent rise in PPM markets. "With PPM now reporting higher AM/FM radio reach levels, campaign reach will experience growth," Westwood One's Scott Anekstein says.

Previously dismissed applicants in Wisconsin, Oregon and Arkansas filed similar appeals describing the LPFM application process as "draconian" in nature. But the commission said that resolving technical errors in applications is "not a good use" of its "limited resources."

As first reported by Ben Mullin of The New York Times, an association of 24 NPR and PBS stations in Florida wrote to NPR CEO Katherine Maher and its board asking for greater relief and more transparency around NPR's efforts to raise more money.
