Dear Kent Gardens Families,
The new school year is off to a fantastic start, and we're ready to make it the best one yet! We're kicking things off with our Annual Giving Campaign, formerly known as “One & Done”. This campaign is the main way we fund events and enrichment activities for our students, teachers, and school community throughout the year.
A few of the things your contribution will go towards include:
• Direct support for teachers to buy supplies for their classrooms.
• Beloved school-wide events like Heritage Night, Welcome Back Picnic, Literacy Night, and STEM Night.
• Teacher Appreciation Week meals, treats & gifts.
Your donation also funds major projects that directly benefit our kids. In previous years, your generosity helped us renovate the school courtyard, purchase new cafeteria & picnic tables, ukuleles for music class, and an outdoor weather center.
Additionally, as many of you are aware, our school, like most in the county, has been affected by recent budget cuts. While we can not used PTA-raised funds to pay for additional staffing, we can use our money to offset other budget shortfalls. By providing supplies, activities and improvements - it allows our school administration to dedicate their funds where they are needed most.
OUR GOAL: We need to raise $45,000 by September 30th. The good news is - we're already over 50% of the way there!
And here's the fun part:
*The first 250 donors receive a Kent Gardens reusable shopping bag.
*The winning class, based on percentage of participation, in each grade will get a prize! (Our current leaders are: Kindergarten - Johnson & Diaconu, 1st - Le Moigne & Galvan, 2nd - Whitesell & Joisten, 3rd - Hinton & Elpant, 4th - Esparcel & Tuma, 5th - Dente & Hogan, 6th - Hansrote, Lim & Peeters).
*One lucky donor will win our grand prize giveaway — a gift certificate for lunch or dinner for 2 at Fogo de Chao.
And if we hit our $45,000 goal, we're planning a school-wide celebration for our students (Remember when we taped the principal to the wall last year? We've got something just as good in the works!).
Every dollar counts, and every family's support matters.
