The Randolph College MFA in Creative Writing The Randolph MFA is a two-year, low-residency degree in creative writing: poetry, fiction, or nonfiction. Many of our students and faculty regularly engage in hybrid and multi-genre work.

In the last five years, Randolph MFA students have published in every major literary magazine and have placed dozens of books with major literary presses, including Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, W.W. Norton, Tin House Books, BOA Editions, New York Review of Books, and Alice James.
Over this same season, our graduates have won or been finalists for many significant awards and distinctions, including the National Book Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Iowa Short Fiction Prize, Hugo Awards, Lambda Literary Awards, PEN America Literary Awards, and the National Magazine Awards.
