Willard-Sherwood Health and Community Center Project Update
Fairfax City and Fairfax County have partnered to redevelop the Joseph Willard Health Center and Stacy C. Sherwood Center sites into a single destination for health, wellness, fitness, child care, and the arts. Over the course of the last few years, the design of the facility has been developed with extensive input from the community along the way.
The design has now been completed and a public hearing on the project will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the City Hall Council Chambers (10455 Armstrong Street, Room 100). All are welcome to attend the meeting and participate in the public hearing.
The Fairfax City Council will be considering the land use applications (special use permits, special exceptions, and certificates of appropriateness) required for the project. These applications do not signify authorization to proceed to construct the project, but are a step in the regulatory permitting process.
