| | Good morning, Chicago. The 49ers cut kicker Jake Moody a month ago. Moody came to Chicago to join the Bears practice squad and await his opportunity. On Monday night, an opportunity presented itself. With Cairo Santos sidelined by a right thigh injury, it was Moody who knocked in a 38-yard field goal on the final play to give the Bears a 25-24 win over the Commanders at Northwest Stadium. The Bears won their third straight game to improve to 3-2, while the Commanders dropped to 3-3. The Bears took advantage of two first-half takeaways from their defense to build that early lead. QB Caleb Williams threw for 252 yards and a touchdown on 17-of-29 passing. He connected with D’Andre Swift on a short pass in the second half that Swift ran 55 yards for a touchdown. Swift also rushed for 108 yards on 14 carries in his best game of the season. Stay connected with us all day: Sign up for our newsletters to get the latest news in your inbox.
