On the week of October 13, crews will begin surface paving on Columbia Pike, between South Courthouse Road and South Garfield Street.
Lanes will be paved one at a time, from end to end. Driveways and access points may be blocked for short periods of time (roughly 30 minutes to 2 hours). After paving is complete, crews will begin installing final striping.
Check out the Segment D page for details.
Question: When are the next Transit Stations coming to Columbia Pike?
Answer: Right now! There are two transit stations under construction - one at South Taylor Street and one at South George Mason Drive.
These are the first of the last 8 transit stations to go on Segments A and F of Columbia Pike this year, and then the final 7 will be installed on Segments C and D in early 2026.
The shelters will be constructed in batches. After they're up, artwork will be installed to the glass panes. The project team will also need to coordinate with WMATA and Dominion Power to activate lighting and digital signs.
Wanna see a preview? Check out the completed stations on the west end of the Pike, or at South Glebe Road on the north side!
