Dear TJHSST Families,
We had a great 40th Anniversary Celebration last weekend! I saw a lot of families at our Open House where several students took advantage of the networking opportunity. Our alumni come from a wealth of backgrounds and we hope to take advantage of that with similar opportunities in the future. Stay tuned!
As for this week's Jefferson Journal, please read on for information on our Military Connected and Veteran Appreciation Breakfast coming up November 10, guidelines on when to hold your child home from school due to illness, winter and spring sports tryout information, and how to preorder your 2026 Yearbook.
Next week will have the full News you Choose newsletter with highlights from the 40th Anniversary Celebration! Remember there is no school for students on Monday or Tuesday.
Due to staff training during the school planning and teacher workdays next week. The TJHSST main office will be open by appointment only each of those days. Thank you for your understanding.

Dear TJHSST Parents and Guardians,
As we enter the colder months, we would like to remind families of the guidelines for when students should stay home due to illness. Following these health recommendations helps protect our school community and keeps everyone learning safely.
When to Keep Your Student Home: Please keep your child home and contact a healthcare provider if they have any of the following:
-
Fever of 100.4°F or higher — stay home until fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
-
Vomiting — stay home until vomiting has stopped overnight and your child can keep food and liquids down.
-
Diarrhea — stay home until symptoms improve and bowel movements return to normal.
-
Severe coughing, wheezing, or difficulty breathing — stay home and consult your healthcare provider.
-
Rash with fever — stay home until evaluated by a healthcare provider.
-
Pink eye (conjunctivitis) with yellow/green discharge — stay home until 24 hours after starting antibiotics, if prescribed.
-
Strep throat — stay home for the first 12 hours after starting antibiotics and until fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications.
Please help prevent the spread by encouraging frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and keeping your student home when they are ill. Consider scheduling your family’s annual flu vaccination if you haven’t already done so.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students and staff healthy.
