Last week, I wrote about the press run former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was on, talking about her new book Independent. Here’s what you all had to say.
Judy M. wrote:, “I too am skeptical of books written by politicians and choose not to read them. Their interviews promoting their books don’t convince me to read their books. I follow politics closely and try to stay objective. There’s so much spin on most everything politicians say I just can’t spend my time on a book full of it.”
Paula R. wrote:, “Listening to Karine’s interview with Michel Martin definitely piqued my interest in buying her book. I’m a life-long Democrat who’s been considering becoming an Independent. Thanks for the great topic!”
Matt B. wrote:, “I do like to read memoirs of politicians, but I’ve also learned to read all memoirs skeptically. Whether they’re politicians or not, they’re trying to achieve something with their book. For most, it’s just to get people to buy the book, but politicians are usually gearing up for a run for office. I would rather read an objective journalist or historian's point of view than a memoir.”
See you next week!
