      November at Glen Forest!
November is a month for reflection, connection, and gratitude. As we celebrate Native American Heritage Month, we honor the rich traditions, cultures, and contributions of Native peoples while deepening our understanding of their history and resilience.
This month also highlights the importance of family engagement—a reminder that families are children’s first and most important teachers, advocates, and supporters. FCPS offers many resources to strengthen the partnership between home and school, supporting both academic success and social-emotional growth. Our school has two family liaisons who helps families navigate school life, connect with community resources, and build lasting relationships that benefit students.
Finally, our **character trait of the month—gratitude—**encourages us all to appreciate the people, opportunities, and moments that make our school community so special.
Together, let’s celebrate learning, family, and thankfulness this November!

      Attend Today!  Achieve Tomorrow!
Strong attendance is critical to your child's success!
- Too many absences in preschool and elementary school can cause children to struggle
socially and academically. • Being late to school may lead to poor attendance. • Missing 10% of school (2 days each month) can make it harder to learn to read and do basic math.

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school — and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool and through elementary school so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day, is important.  Visit the FCPS Attendance webpage for additional information.
