Let’s be real, Niepodam. Teaching is already a lot.
And when you’re working with a student who can’t sit still, blurts out answers, and seems like they’re always almost in trouble?
It can feel impossible to keep things on track—no matter how good your routines are.
But here’s the thing:
ADHD doesn’t just show up as “hyper.” In early elementary, it can look like:
✔️ Constant movement (even when seated)
✔️ Zoning out during directions
✔️ Rushing through work and making careless mistakes
✔️ Emotional outbursts over tiny changes
And unfortunately, a lot of traditional classroom strategies just don’t work for these students—because they weren’t designed to.
That’s why I brought on ADHD expert Cheryl Agrawal for this week’s podcast episode.
She shares:
✅ What ADHD actually looks like in younger students
✅ Small tweaks that help them stay engaged (without shame)
✅ Easy strategies you can use tomorrow—no prep required
✅ How to partner with paras and admins for better support
