When it comes to longevity, is tennis the sport that cheats death? A study from 2018 found that tennis players lived 9.7 years longer on average than those who were sedentary, beating out every other activity they examined: badminton added 6.2 years, soccer 4.7, cycling 3.7, swimming 3.4, and jogging just 3.2. With an alchemy of cardiovascular conditioning, balance, agility, strength and cognition, it’s easy to see why tennis scores so well – but take note: the perfect healthy hobby is only useful if you're enjoying yourself, experts say.
