I am currently in the depths of a deadline, so it's been lots of late nights and honestly, far too many pastries! Such are the things which fuel writer brains.
Auckland is currently experiencing a little heat wave - it feels like we're in the middle of summer rather than the middle of spring. No doubt the weather gods will surprise us with a sudden frost at some point, but until then, it's barbeque and swimming season.
I know it's getting cold on the other side of the world, so if that's your home, I hope you're staying cozy.

Scammers on Social Media and Other Platforms
I've recently had word that someone is pretending to be me on Discord, and is reaching out to people. Unfortunately, these types of scams are getting more and more common. They pop up everywhere - Facebook, Instagram, any other platform where folks congregate.
They steal photos from my legitimate social media for their profiles, so please be vigilant. Just because it looks like my profile doesn't mean it is.
My actual social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) are linked on my website, so you can always double check if you're following the official account. And even there, be careful as sometimes, the scammers come into the comments and try to start up conversations by pretending to be me - we ban them whenever we see them, but please let us know if you ever spot one.
No matter what, I will NEVER EVER ask you for your personal or financial details, which is what a lot of these scammers are aiming to do. Sometimes they say you've won a book and have to pay for shipping. Please DON'T FALL FOR THIS.
I'm not the only author these people are impersonating either, so just be wary of any and all random approaches.
I hate that I have to send out this warning - social media is such a wonderful place for community and connection, but unfortunately, there's always someone who ruins it by trying to take advantage of people. So take care of yourself out there, and always be vigilant.
