A little peek into my HarperCollins cover art process

I'm writing a book with HarperCollins and they recently asked me for inspo for the cover art.

First, here's exactly what I told the art department about the overall message I want the cover to communicate:

"The message of Notice and Do is fresh, bold, and a powerful modern disrupter. Badass rebellion. A revolution. Like a rally of fed up moms/women who are leading a march with picket signs and megaphones. (Not necessarily that literal image but that's what comes to mind and the vibe I want the cover to communicate.)

This isn't a cute little parenting book. It's an entire movement that women and moms are fired up about."

Then I showed them these two artists:

I love everything @ez.bookdesign does. His designs feel like more than just a book cover - it's cool, fresh art that I'd hang in my house.

@devthepineapple'swork is amazing. Her illustrations aren't cutesy and also feel like a print or a poster I'd proudly display.
Here are a few inspo covers I showed them:

Notice and Do (the book!) won't be out until Oct 2026 (this is a looong game!), but in the meantime, I'll share more bts of the process like this with you!

Preorders open in a few months! And guys- preorders are soooo important to getting book distributors to NOTICE …eh? eh? I'm funny
