The U.S. government re-opened on Thursday and as a result, it was back to work for the commission. FCC filings that were due between Oct. 1 and Monday, Nov. 17 are now due Tuesday, Nov. 18, with the possibility of further extensions. However, attorney Scott Flick told us that no station should wait until Tuesday to file if it can help it, with the volume of filings likely to come on that day.

The history of broadcast innovation runs deep in Philadelphia, going all the way back to Philo Farnsworth’s groundbreaking television demonstration at the Franklin Institute in 1934. One of the engineers carrying the torch is Audacy’s Dave Skalish, a new member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame.
