Arrived has launched a secondary market platform that allows investors to trade shares of rental homes in minutes, backed by a $27 million fundraising round. The platform enables investors to buy shares of rental homes for as little as $100, with the homes managed by Arrived. Investors receive dividends from rental income and benefit from property appreciation.

The former home of singer and actress Lena Horne in Queens, N.Y., has been listed for sale at $1.225 million. The Tudor-style house, which Horne bought in 1946 and lived in until 1962, is in the Addisleigh Park section of St. Albans, a neighborhood once home to notable figures such as Ella Fitzgerald and Jackie Robinson. The property, designated a landmark in 2011, features six bedrooms, a large backyard and original wood floors. Matthew Wynter of Brown Harris Stevens is the listing agent.

A study by RAND finds that affordable housing in California is 65% more expensive to develop than market-rate housing and significantly more costly than in other states. The study highlights the complex financing, prevailing wage laws and high impact fees as major cost drivers. Developers suggest that faster project approvals could help reduce costs.
