Vocabulary is important but many of my students have been learning it the wrong way.

Think about how you learnt your first language.

You didn't sit down with a list of words and memorise them one by one, did you?

You listened to people around you. You heard stories. You listened to your family talking. You heard words and expressions used TOGETHER. That's how you learnt what sounds natural and what doesn't.

So why should learning English be any different?

This is why my courses use story-based learning.

I could easily present a new word like this:

  1. exhausted (adjective) - extremely tired
    • "I was exhausted after work."

That's fine. But will you remember it? Will you actually use it, or will you just stick with ‘tired’?

Now, let me show you how I teach the same word:

"After three weeks of non-stop deadlines, Emma felt completely exhausted. The workload was overwhelming. When she was finally finished, she felt like she could breathe again.”

Why is this better?

You feel a connection to Emma. Maybe you've been in a similar situation. So much work, no time to rest, you just feel more tired than you've felt in a long time.

So now you understand: 'exhausted' is more extreme than 'tired'. And when we add that collocation 'completely exhausted', we're amplifying it even more. Not just extremely tired, but completely done. You can't go on anymore. There's this feeling of extreme tiredness.

You start to FEEL something. You have this connection. And THAT is what makes new vocabulary stick in your brain – not just reading it from a list.

This is the true strength of story-based learning.

You see how words interact with the words around them. You learn which words naturally go together. And then you start speaking that way without thinking about it.

That's what builds your confidence and helps you sound natural when you speak.

In my courses, you get both approaches.

Yes, I give you vocabulary banks with definitions and pronunciation guides. You absolutely need those! But you learn new words and expressions through stories and real conversations too.

This is why my method has worked for over 50,000 students.

You don’t need to memorise more words. It’s time for you to learn to use English confidently and correctly.
