First thing's first.

Have you been naughty this year? Are you one of those people who signs up to a list to get a resource...

But then just forget all about it?

Well let me remind you of two important details:

  • You signed up to this list because you wanted the Little Black Book of CopyThinking. You can still get it for free by clicking  >>> here.

  • There's a really nice and shiny unsubscribe button at the bottom of this email. Please click on it if you don't wanna receive more emails from me. I send a lot of them.

Still here? Okay. You asked for it...

The fake fortune-teller who made me rich

I went to a fortune teller when I was a small boy and she predicted that if I ever fall deeply in love...

And the girl cheats on me...

I'll never be able to forgive and I will revenge her in the worst possible way:

Turn her into a donkey.

Not on purpose. Just from anger...

Fast-forward to when I was 18.

She was a kind young lady who treated me well.

But why did she cheat on me?

This is when it all began...

The prediction came true. Suddenly... I lost control over myself. And she started moaning. Gray fur started growing on her skin...

I'll stop this story here because you're not stupid.

You probably understand that this is not a true story.

I hope.

But what you're reading right now is a big part of CopyThinking. Being able to tell a story that catches attention.

Why?

You'll understand in a hot minute when I tell you another story. And this one? This one is a real story:

A fortune-teller told my dad I'd become rich. She lied.

My dad came from a poor family.

He kept telling me "Son... When I go... There's nothing I can leave for you and your brother. I'm poor. Never had anything and never will..."

He told me this a lot.

But one day he started to go to a fortune-teller.

Once a month.

And every time he'd come home after that meeting - he'd tell me the same thing: "Son. She said you'll make a lot of money."

Throughout most of my life.

And I have an assumption.

I think my dad tried to leave me something when he goes. I think he tried to leave me self-belief.

I think he tried to drill into my subconscious "George - you will become rich". After all... that's all he believed he could give me.

Well I didn't become rich. But then...

I started listening to one audiobook.

One audiobook that worked on my subconscious even stronger than my dad did.

One audiobook that I started listening to when I started growing on Twitter. And it has changed everything for me.

... And I'll tell you the name of this Audiobook so you can listen to it too.

But before I do... Let me share with you a crucial part of CopyThinking:

Let me share with you how I write good stories.

Email marketing = storytelling. Yes?

So...

The first story I told you in this email - is a song.

Yes. Lyrics of a song I accidentally bumped into.

I won't share the name of the song as it's not in English. Anyway...

When you consume interesting stories (or songs) - you can not only model those stories but they also spark up ideas in your brain.

Ideas for your own stories.

And this is exactly how this email came about.

But there's one more pointer to writing a good email.

And it works the same with a tweet. A thread. A youtube video. An Instagram post. Or reel. Or story. And everything else that's storytelling-heavy.

And that's VALUE.

See how I did it in this email?

I took you behind-the-scenes to show you how I write stories (and emails).

But there's one last thing.

You have to leave your readers with a piece of value. Something they want.

So that's why I'm leaving you with the Audiobook that (I believe) changed my life: The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale.

You can get it on Audible or look it up on Youtube.

(It's bad quality on Youtube).

Ciao CopyThinker.
