It's Thursday in New York City, where NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch told rank-and-file officers yesterday that she and her new boss, Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, don’t "agree on everything."

One area where they appear to disagree is low-level offenses: Arrests for fare evasion and open drug use have surged under Tisch, while Mamdani campaigned on shifting the NYPD's focus toward "serious crimes."

• A Brooklyn wigmaker who plowed her Audi into a family of pedestrians back in March — killing a mother and her two older children — was sentenced yesterday to three to nine years in prison.
