Colo. airport landing fees rejected amid budget concerns
The Longmont, Colo., City Council narrowly rejected an ordinance that would have established landing fees at Vance Brand Airport, following months of debate and divided public opinion. While some residents and council members argued the fees would provide a fair method to address the airport's budget issues, others, including the Airport Advisory Board, cited concerns over enforcement, potential harm to local businesses, and a lack of sufficient financial analysis. Council members opposing the ordinance preferred to await the results of an upcoming study before making a decision on landing fees.

P&W wins $1.2B F100 sustainment contract
Pratt & Whitney has received contracts totaling more than $1.2 billion from the War Department to sustain the F100 engine, which powers the F-15 and F-16. The main contract, valued at $1.1 billion, runs through September 2030 and covers consumable and depot-level parts as well as program management.

Bipartisan bill would fund air traffic controllers during shutdowns
