Study details Centiloid scale discrepancies in amyloid PET
A technical report in Cureus highlights potential quantification errors in amyloid PET imaging when using the Centiloid scale. The report describes a case where significant cortical amyloid was visually apparent, but the Centiloid value was underestimated, leading to a false-negative result. This discrepancy was attributed to the use of the whole cerebellum as a reference region, which may lower standardized uptake value ratios compared with cerebellar gray matter.

Study evaluates PRIMARY score prognostic value
A study published in the journal European Urology looked at the overall survival rate for 1,889 patients with prostate cancer who had PSMA PET for initial staging, as an evaluation of PRIMARY score, which was implemented in Prostate Cancer Molecular Imaging Standardized Evaluation version 2. A PRIMARY score of 5 was linked to shorter OS but researchers noted additional prognostic value was seen by adding PI-RADS or clinical T stage to the analysis.

Study compares PCCT, MRI for rectal cancer staging accuracy
Researchers studied the potential of photon-counting CT for T3-T4 rectal cancer staging, finding an AUC range of 80% to 86%, compared with 78% to 88% with MRI. "PCD CT is particularly advantageous for patients with contraindications to MRI because it can provide a practical and efficient imaging alternative," the study authors wrote in a radiology journal. "Furthermore, PCD CT offers an adjunctive modality to MRI, especially when MRI has artifacts."
