Our Fox Trot is happening on Saturday! Rain or shine, we run! Even though we might not have blue skies, our blue shirts bring out the brightness in all our runners. Thank you to our PTA and community volunteers for organizing this annual Fort Hunt tradition.

A Message from Ms. Consolla
Our staff felt the love this week when our PTA set up a snack bar for us. Their thoughtful gesture brightened our day and we are so grateful for their ongoing support and generosity.
Please remember that next week is a short one due to the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no school for students from Wednesday, November 26th through Friday, November 28th. Whether you are traveling or staying close to home, best wishes for a safe and restful break.
As we head into this time of reflection and thanks, I want to share how incredibly grateful I am to be the principal of Fort Hunt Elementary and a part of this amazing, supportive community. It is our families, students, and staff that make this school a truly special place every single day.
As always, thank you for your partnership with us in your child's education at Fort Hunt.

✅ Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey
We are at 82% completion! The following classes have 100% response rate:
Smith, Tricoli, Myers, Seadeek, Fouche (GO 6th grade!), Fuentes, Taylor (K), and McPherson
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. We have provided paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE. You can use the paper form sent home in Wednesday folders if you haven't completed it in ParentVUE.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. This year, FCPS expects to receive approximately $4 million in Impact Aid funding. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For more information, visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.
Parents and guardians of students in Grades 2-7 who would like their student to be considered for full-time Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) services must submit the AAP Full-Time Referral Form to Preshion Lynch (pmlynch@fcps.edu) no later than December 15, 2025.
Each year, families can submit a referral for full-time AAP services any time from the first day of school through December 15. No late referrals for full-time AAP services will be accepted. As a reminder, please do not ask teachers for work samples.
Once a referral is received, our school will compile information related to the student. Our team will include four work samples. Then, a committee of six trained professionals from across the county will review materials to determine eligibility for full-time AAP services.
Next Steps for Parents
Eligibility decisions are communicated by early April. Parents may request a copy of their child’s materials after February 20, 2026, by emailing Ms. Lynch.
At the elementary level, referrals for subject-specific and part-time AAP are screened by our school. If you miss the full-time referral deadline, your student can still be screened for subject-specific or part-time AAP services for the remainder of the year.
At the middle school level, honors courses are open to all students.
For more information, please visit the Advanced Academic Programs webpage.
