Most people aren’t soft, tired, and out of shape because they’re lazy.

They’re stuck because they’re following outdated advice that guarantees they lose the same 10 lbs over and over… and never make the big transformation they actually want.

Let’s fix the biggest ones:

Myth #1: “I gained 3 pounds"

Your body isn’t a computer. Water, sodium, carbs, stress, and fiber swing your weight constantly.

One spike ruins everything… you think 3 lbs = fat… you give up.

Track weekly averages instead. If the trend is down, you’re winning.

Myth #2: “I’m hungry”

Hunger isn’t an emergency. It’s a cost of doing business for weight loss.

Nighttime over-eating. Quitting early. Never getting started...

Manage appetite with high-protein, high-fiber meals - not by abandoning the plan.

Myth #3: “I messed up”

All-or-nothing thinkers stay stuck at “nothing.”

You miss one meal → whole day gone… one off weekend → quit… perfection or bust.

Consistency beats perfection. As cliche as it sounds. Raise your minimums instead of reaching for the maximum.

Myth #4: “I fail every time”

I get it. You've tried diets. Trainers. Apps. Nothing seems to work.

You delay getting started because you're scared to fail again.

This might sound harsh - but what if the problem wasn't EVERYTHING else you've tried?

Myth #5: “I put everything else first”

Burned-out people make worse partners, parents, and leaders.

You put everyone first. So you come in last place and get the scraps.

Remember the oxygen mask rule - take care of you so you can show up for them.

Myth #6: “I’ll start when things calm down”

Life never calms down.

You delay until after trips… projects… holidays… stress spikes.

Learn to win in the weeds. Or you'll give it all away the moment life gets busy again.

Myth #7: “I should be able to do this alone”

If “be more disciplined” worked, you’d be ripped.

I get the masculine urge to be a man and just do it all yourself.

But just imagine you had yourself as a mentor for personal finance 20+ years ago.

How much further along would you be? Would that mentorship make younger you a failure?
