Hello again, hello.
Some years it's so nice to NOT be the host, and instead be that guest who just shows up — but not empty-handed, of course!
How glorious it is to bring a bottle of wine (if it's white, make sure it's chilled!), and something you can just toss together or set out after you arrive as a gesture of gratitude for the feast about to begin.
The sweet and tangy flavor of this cranberry orange relish is one of the easiest holiday side dishes to make.
There’s just 4 basic ingredients, and everything gets dumped into a food processor and blitzed to combine.
Since this is a no-cook recipe, the fresh cranberry flavor really shines.
Cranberries are naturally quite puckery, and I balanced out their astringent flavor with a little sweetness in the form of a whole orange and canned crushed pineapple.
It’s sweet, tangy, and refreshing, just the way I like it.

Each of these little potluck contributions is quick to make, easy to transport, and guaranteed to earn a grateful “Oh good, you brought something!” from the host.
Last-minute doesn’t have to look last-minute — and these recipes prove it.
Enjoy, and start noshing!
