Google Search Console is rolling out a new branded vs. non-branded queries filter, and it’s a pretty useful one.

You can now break out your performance reports to see exactly how much traffic comes from people who already know your brand versus people discovering you for the first time.

You’ll also get new Insights cards showing branded vs. non-branded clicks at a glance.

Why this matters:

  • Branded queries tell you how recognizable your brand actually is
  • Non-branded queries show your real growth potential
  • The split helps explain why rankings may look good while traffic stalls
  • And it gives you a much clearer read on how well your SEO is working

Some accounts will see this roll out slowly, so don’t panic if it’s not in yours yet.
