Happy Saturday, The older I get, the more I am surprised by the reality that life’s real pleasures aren’t exceptional; they are the small, steady ones that repeat themselves in the rhythm of an ordinary day. I’ve learned this about myself not just by feeling it, but also by tracking it. Every night before bed, I jot down a dozen small data points from my day including my cycle day, mood, energy level, sleep score, HRV — plus my “high” and “low,” and one moment when I felt especially present. I journal these digitally so I can easily turn them into word clouds or surface themes at the end of the year. I love this time of year for the way it invites us to turn inward, back toward the practices of reflection that show us who we are and remind us that our lives are simply a collection of days and moments.
