TheWrap Wins Best Website, Takes 8 Top Honors at National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards

TheWrap earned eight first-place honors at the 2025 National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards, including Best Entertainment Website.

The judges said:

“The Wrap provides a clean, yet powerful set of images and text. The graphics (in this case, the CNN In Flux story) offered intrigue and perspective. It showed there was something menacing. Story layouts were within easy eyesight and didn’t overwhelm, but had the power to draw you in.”

Wrap founder and editor-in-chief Sharon Waxman’s “WaxWord”, won Best Entertainment Blog, the sixth time she has won this award.

The awards recognize excellence in reporting, storytelling and analysis across film, television, music, and entertainment business coverage.

Drew Taylor earned Best Film Feature, Filmmakers for his deeply reported exclusive on “‘Midnight Rider’ Director Randall Miller Breaks His Silence on the Deadly Set Accident That Sent Him to Prison,” which a judge called “a fabulous story…structured so readers would want to read it all the way to the end.”

Other first-place winners included Drew Taylor, William Bibbiani, Alexei Barrionuevo, Kayla Cobb, Tess Patton, Raquel Harris, and Richard Stellar.

TheWrap also took top honors in categories spanning Soft News, Film, Film Critic, Business TV/Streaming, Diversity in TV/Streaming, and Music Personality Profiles. Judges praised the team for the publication’s clarity, compelling voice, and thoughtful storytelling. Highlights included Bibbiani’s “funny, insightful and approachable” film critiques, Barrionuevo’s empathetic profiles capturing industry shifts, Cobb and Patton’s detailed reporting on the creator economy, Harris’s impactful coverage of DEI rollbacks, and Stellar’s richly contextual music profiles.
