It’s hard to believe we’re just one week away from winter break! There is still time to sign up for a few of the afterschool winter session offerings as well as the Spelling Bee. As we wrap up the calendar year, we have a few important updates to share:

Celebrating Reflections Program Winners
We are thrilled to recognize our Reflections Program winners! Congratulations to all participants for their creativity and hard work. A special shout-out to our first-place winners—best of luck as you advance to the county-level competition!

Remembering Erica Hirt
This week, we were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Erica Hirt, our beloved 5th and 6th grade band teacher. Erica’s passion for teaching and her ability to inspire a love of music in her students will remain a lasting part of Forestville’s story. She touched so many lives, and her impact will not be forgotten.

We echo the school’s message that support is available. If your child needs additional help during this time, please reach out to their teacher or grade-level counselor so we can check in. FCPS also offers mental health resources—please encourage your child to share their feelings and seek support if needed.

The PTA will join in celebrating and remembering Ms. Hirt and will share more information as it becomes available.
