The tragic deaths of Reiner and his wife Michele sent shockwaves through Hollywood on Sunday night, and tributes poured in for the comedian and filmmaker from everyone from Stephen King and Cary Elwes to former President Barack Obama. That is an all-timer run. And it's not even mentioning his genre-creating mockumentary "This Is Spinal Tap" or the swoon-worthy romance "The American President." Reiner was responsible for one of the best coming-of-age movies ever made, one of the best romantic comedies ever made, one of the best courtroom dramas ever made, etc. That doesn't happen by accident, and I'd argue it has something to do with Reiner's ability to tap into the human condition.
