Dear Chantilly Community and Staff:

I am writing to share some news of staff changes on the Chantilly Administrative Team:

Congratulations Cynthia Hawkins!

Mrs. Cynthia Hawkins, Assistant Principal for Subschool 3 and Science administrator has accepted a promotion with FCPS as the Senior Manager III, PreK-12 Curriculum Integration Management in the Instructional Services Department effective December 22, 2025. We have been grateful for Cynthia's strong instructional leadership and advocacy for professional learning for staff and focus on student growth and achievement during her tenure. Ms. Hawkins will be greatly missed by the Chantilly community and we wish her all the best in her new role.

Mr. Phil Leger (pictured below), will be serving as the interim administrator in Subschool 3 effective January 5, 2026. Mr. Leger is an aspiring administrator who currently serves as the Criminal Justice teacher in the Chantilly Academy.

Prior to joining Chantilly Academy as the Criminal Justice teacher, Mr. Leger served as a Deputy Sheriff for the City of Alexandria. While working in law enforcement, Phil served as a field trainer and general instructor. His passion for training new deputies and engaging in the educational side of law enforcement inspired his transition into teaching. Before that, Phil worked at a juvenile transition home in Brockton, Massachusetts, where he gained valuable experience supporting young people through critical stages of their development. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications/public relations from Westfield State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership and school administration from Grand Canyon University. Phil lives in Warrenton with his wife, Lauren, and their two daughters, Elsie and Lucy. We are excited to welcome Mr. Leger to the Chantilly administrative team!
