Dear Reader,

Most recently, the stories that have stopped me in my tracks were Hong Kong Church Rallies After 60 Congregants Lose Homes in Deadly Fire, Nigerian Parents Pray for Children’s Return After Mass Kidnapping, and Christ Welcomes Us So That We Might Welcome Him. They may seem scattered at first glance, but as someone with one precious teenage daughter, a painfully small view of the world until my 30s, and a growing desire to reflect the tangible, intimate hospitality Jesus shows to the marginalized and overlooked, these stories stir me. They rattle me. They remind me of the world’s brokenness—and of the hope Christ calls us to carry into it.
