Animated children’s musical film David is short on violence and romance but big on heroism and obscure Bible details.

In an interview for The Bulletin, bishop Robert Stearns and rabbi Josh Stanton model how Christians can show their Jewish neighbors they are not alone.

Joni Eareckson Tada knows what it’s like to traverse impossible darkness into God’s brilliant light, just like in the Advent season.

Christians and Muslims gather in one room to consider competing accounts of Lebanon’s 15-year civil war.

Behind the Story

From CT’s senior features editor Kate Lucky: This was a big year for faith-based movie and TV coverage at CT. We covered the new Wonder Project streaming channel and delved into the biblical details of its flagship show House of David. We reviewed a biblical drama based on the Book of Acts, an Exodus mockumentary, a Jesus horror movie, the romance Ruth and Boaz, a few animated kids’ offerings, and season 5 of beloved smash hit The Chosen. (I particularly love this piece about the show’s non-Christian fans.)

We also published plenty of articles about new releases that aren’t explicitly Christian, including staff-written pieces on Knives Out, Sinners, The Phoenician Scheme, Severance, and KPop Demon Hunters. I value CT’s culture coverage for its breadth and its depth. We don’t just cover "faith-based" art (though it’s always fun to see a new Bible story brought to the screen). But we do always bring our faith-based perspective to bear on whatever we watch.

Because Christ Reigns, The Church Can Flourish

Isaiah tells us of the coming Messiah, "Of the greatness of His government and peace there will be no end." At Christianity Today, we believe that because Christ reigns, the Church can flourish—even in a world that still aches for His peace.

Through in-depth journalism, redemptive storytelling, and resources that disciple believers, CT helps the global Church live faithfully in this "already and not yet" Kingdom—seeing the world through the lens of Christ’s truth and hope.

As one reader shared, "CT helps us learn to be faithful and see the world in a faithful way."

Will you join us with a tax-deductible gift before December 31 to help our ministry strengthen the Church for generations to come. Give now.

As we enter the holiday season, we consider how the places to which we belong shape us—and how we can be the face of welcome in a broken world. In this issue, you’ll read about how a monastery on Patmos offers quiet in a world of noise and, from Ann Voskamp, how God’s will is a place to find home. Read about modern missions terminology in our roundtable feature and about an astrophysicist’s thoughts on the Incarnation. Be sure to linger over Andy Olsen’s reported feature "An American Deportation" as we consider Christian responses to immigration policies. May we practice hospitality wherever we find ourselves.
