Good afternoon Wentyl,

More than 40,000 Year 12 graduates will receive an offer this morning to study at university next year, but for those who have missed out on their dream degree, ATAR cut-offs for the next round have also been revealed.

Unlike a letter from Hogwarts, soon-to-be university students will receive their invitations to further study in the modern fashion – via email – or can log on to the Universities Admission Centre (UAC) portal from 7:30am to view their offer.

In total, 41,199 offers have been handed out in the first ATAR-based and largest overall offer round for 2026 enrolments. The Australian National University (ANU) was the only institution which didn’t make any offers in this round.

The lowest selection ranks, also known as cut-offs, for the second December round will also be published today. These reflect the ATAR (with adjustment factors added) of the lowest-ranked individual who was given an offer for that course.

Several universities, including Macquarie University, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and UNSW, reported the lowest selection ranks of 99.95 – the highest possible ATAR available, which only 53 students received this year – in a range of courses.

Have a great day.
