Public media has faced a challenging 2025, but our community has stood by us. That’s part of what I love about working here at NPR: the people.
I’ve been working in public media for almost a decade, based in the South, and every day I have the opportunity to connect with you and explain our ever-changing world. And, when local news grabs national attention, my colleagues across the NPR Network are there to provide nuance and context from the communities they live in and serve. This year, that meant investigating the efforts to restructure the federal government and covering the political reactions to those changes.
With 2026 on the horizon, my colleagues and I are planning for what comes next. And we never fully know. But what we do know is that whatever tomorrow’s news turns out to be, public media will be there for the people we serve. You can count on us, no matter what.
Just as you rely on us to keep you informed, we rely on your support to keep our reporting and programming coming. Please become a pillar of support that we know we can depend on as we enter the new year. Make a donation today.
P.S. When you donate, leave us a comment telling us why you support public media. We’ll feature our favorite supporter comments as we welcome the new year — if you act now, that could be you!
