Collection Team Training in Your Area
Fairfax County Solid Waste is committed to enhancing leaf collection services through improved operations and quality checks. As part of our quality control process, you may see collection teams in your area before and after collection. These teams are conducting additional training to ensure we maintain the highest level of service for our residents.
Natural Christmas trees will be collected from January 5 to 16, 2026 for recycling. Lights, decorations, and stands must be removed to ensure collection. After January 16, please schedule a brush Special Pickup to have the natural Christmas tree removed. We will place holiday trees in a wood-chipper with other mulch to be recycled. Residents can pick up mulch for free at the I-66 Transfer Station or I-95 Landfill Complex.
