Join us for the MLK Tribute on Jan. 18!

Arlington's annual tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place on Sun., Jan. 18, 2026 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Wakefield High School. This year’s theme, Dreams, Faith and Justice in Action, will feature spoken word, music, and movement to inspire the community. Experience uplifting messages and extraordinary performances, including a special appearance by the internationally acclaimed Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University Join us for an unforgettable night as we embrace Rev. Summer Camp 2026: Registration Is Coming Up!

It may still be winter, but we’re already gearing up for an amazing summer and it’s the perfect time to start planning. Take a moment to browse our website so you’re ready when registration opens. Here’s how the 2026 schedule rolls out:

    (available to families enrolled in the fee reduction program)

Get Signed up for Fee Reductions!

Learn if you qualify for Arlington's Department of Parks and Recreation's (DPR) fee reduction program and join us to get signed up on the spot at Arlington Mill Community Center during two fee reduction events:

  • Thu., Jan. 22 from 6-8 p.m.
  • Thu., Jan. 29 from 12-2 p.m. 

Get signed up for reduced fees on DPR programs and services! Provide eligible documents and get your household signed up with the help of the on site registration team. Learn more about the program and other ways to sign up here


Park Corps

Park Corps: Apply Today!

Love the outdoors? Park Corps is a paid program for ages 16-18 that offers hands-on work with Arlington natural resource professionals. Participants build job skills, gain experience and make connections while working outside. Applications are accepted until Mon., Jan. 12Apply now!

It offers a dynamic, full-body workout that blends strength, flexibility, and mindful movement. Using the Reformer’s spring-based resistance system, participants engage in controlled exercises that challenge core stability, improve posture, and enhance muscular endurance. Learn more.

Free Trees Available Through EcoAction Arlington 

Want to add a tree to your yard at no cost? EcoAction Arlington is accepting applications for spring 2026 planting  through Wed., Jan. 14. EcoAction Arlington’s Tree Canopy Equity Program also provides free trees and shrubs to residents in neighborhoods with low tree cover. Learn more.

Access for All!
Parks & Recreation classes, camps, fitness memberships, preschools, programs and more are at a price you can afford! Our fee reduction program helps Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day! Access for All. Whether you have a short-term set back or something longer term, we're here to help.

 

Additionally, all Parks & Recreation programs, classes and camps can put modifications in place to promote an enjoyable and successful program experience for participants of all abilities. Advance notice is welcome. Call 703-228-4740 or email trinfo@arlingtonva.us.

 

Stop by our office at Lubber Run Community Center on select Saturdays to get help with registration, create an account, get login information, renew or apply for fee reductions, drop off registration forms, set up payment plans and more. The DPR Administrative Services Office at Lubber Run Community Center also has extended after hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 –7 p.m. for in-person assistance.
