Flooding America’s streets with masked, poorly trained, and unaccountable armed ICE agents made killings like this inevitable. It wasn’t the first, and it surely won’t be the last.

The video of ICE killing Renee Nicole Good in cold blood is horrific.

Now, the Trump administration is trying to justify the killing by smearing the victim and flagrantly lying about what we all saw with our own eyes.

Oh, hell no.

Flooding America’s streets with masked, poorly trained, and unaccountable armed Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents made killings like this inevitable. It wasn’t the first, and it surely won’t be the last.

The Intercept is launching an all-hands-on-deck investigation into the shooting in Minneapolis and ICE’s growing track record of using excessive force. We’ve been reporting on ICE abuses from the start while too many corporate news outlets have turned a blind eye or actively defended ICE.

Now, with your help, we’re setting out to collect available video of every ICE-related shooting and use of force to forensically analyze and identify any patterns of abuse and malfeasance.

Will you donate $5 to help fund our urgent effort to investigate ICE’s reign of terror on American streets and this cold-blooded killing in Minneapolis?

Contrary to ample available evidence, the Trump administration is claiming that the ICE agent was “fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots.”

The Department of Homeland Security statement also said that the slaughtered driver “weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them — an act of domestic terrorism.”

It is, of course, bullshit — bullshit atop the ocean of bullshit that federal authorities have spewed out for months when attempting to frame a brutal, masked army of jackboots as imperiled, brave heroes.

On numerous occasions, judges have dismissed cases in which ICE agents accused people they shot of attempting to ram officers with vehicles.

Renee Good will have no day in court, but we’re committed to uncovering ICE’s reign of terror on American streets and holding the men and women responsible to account.

Donate now. Stop ICE.
