Public Advisory: Emergency Exercise at Carlin Springs & Wakefield HS

Arlington County and Arlington Public Schools will conduct a joint, full-scale emergency response exercise on Friday, Jan. 30, 7:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m., at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Rd S, Arlington, VA) and Wakefield High School (1325 S Dinwiddie St, Arlington, VA).

This exercise is designed to practice response plans and coordination between first responders, emergency management officials, and Arlington Public Schools staff to a simulated act of violence.

There will be an increased presence of emergency responders and vehicles at Carlin Springs Elementary School and nearby Kenmore Middle School starting at 6:30 a.m. until the conclusion of the exercise at 2:00 p.m. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area surrounding the schools during this time to minimize disruptions.

This exercise is not open to the media or public.
