We are planning our SAP Fiori Innovation Day series for 2026. Host cities include Dublin, Paris, Palo Alto, Bangalore, Walldorf, and probably another U.S. location. When we have the dates, we’ll share them in the practitioner forum and SAP Fiori Development roundtable.
SAP Screen Personas 3.0 SP20 is now available. The documentation describes what’s new.
The main event was an amazing presentation by Jacob from Exact Sciences. They have SAP Screen Personas SP19 installed on their SAP S/4HANA 2023 on-prem system, running around 30 flavors in production. The users are 130 lab engineers who work in six plants around the world. The demo was mostly the simplifications that he made on transaction IW32, change maintenance order. The main goal is to maximize uptime in their lab equipment, which is used for cancer screening.
Before the Screen Personas project, they had many issues with data accuracy and completeness because the users need to enter data into multiple locations and often the information would not be duplicated properly in all the places where it needed to appear. They followed a phased approach based on discussions with and observations of the users. The discovery process focused on three areas and led to three distinct phases of the project:
- What fields can we hide because you don’t need them on the screen?
- What information do you need to do your job? They used scripts to bring in content from other screens or submenus.
- What are the common errors? They introduced checks on the screen to simplify the end to end process eliminate errors from going into the system.
The viewport-powered flavors are in addition to the 400 Fiori apps they have implemented. Both coexist as tiles on their SAP Fiori launchpad and My Home screens. The questions, comments, and reactions were a good indication of how much people enjoyed and learned from the session.
Details are in the slides, available in the Work Zone.
