The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors proclaimed Jan. 20, 2026, a Day of Racial Healing in Fairfax County. The day is part of a national initiative, marked since 2017, that aims to repair the damages caused by racism, promote trust and create connections for a more equitable society. Providence Supervisor Dalia A. Palchik presented the proclamation, accepted by NCS Equity Manager Ramona Carroll, at the "Truth in Voice, Truth in Service" event on Jan. 24, 2026, at Jim Scott Community Center.

 Teens Get Work, Education Resources at Expo
Teens and young adults prepared for the future by taking part in the Discover Your Path Expo on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Edison High School. Participants heard from mentors, learned about SAT prep and financial aid, and took part in mock job interviews, among other activities.

NCS Computer Clubhouses Reach a Milestone
All 12 of NCS’ community-based technology centers are now part of the international Clubhouse Network, a STEAM-focused initiative launched by MIT and Intel. The model emphasizes hands-on, mentor-supported learning in inclusive, creative spaces. Fairfax County now hosts the largest concentration of Clubhouses in the world. Learn more

Participants at Lincolnia Senior Center and Adult Day Health Care recently celebrated the center's 35th birthday with a community celebration.
