 Dear Families,
As we prepare for our potential return to school this Monday, please know that our biggest focus is ensuring everyone stays safe while traveling to and from school.
Our teams are working hard alongside county officials to clear snow and ice, but we know the commute may still be a bit tricky. We’re asking for your continued grace and patience as we navigate what will likely be a slower arrival and dismissal process next week.
Below, you will find important arrival and dismissal information along with updates related to the ongoing snow and ice conditions around our school campus.
At this time, there is no available street parking near the school. Students who are able to ride the bus should continue to do so. Walking to school is encouraged when possible; however, we recognize that many sidewalks and back pathways are currently impassable due to snow and ice. Families are encouraged to walk their best route with their child over the weekend to determine the safest path.
To support a safe and smooth arrival and dismissal process, extra staff will be available during both arrival and dismissal times to assist students and help ensure safety. Students who arrive later in the morning due to traffic or weather conditions will not be marked tardy for the first 15 minutes.
Please also note that Greeley currently has sections reduced to one lane. Families should plan for extra travel time when arriving at or departing from school.
I want to recognize the tremendous efforts of our custodial team. Despite their hard work, the recent snow combined with layers of ice has made complete removal extremely difficult. As a result, there are several pathways that students may typically use that we have not yet been able to fully clear.
If your child walks to school using a particular path and you are able to assist with clearing snow or ice, we would be very grateful. Any help from our community goes a long way in keeping our students safe.
Finally, please do not park in the staff parking lot. We are already limited in available parking, and staff will not be able to park if families use those spaces.
To summarize:
- No available parking on the streets surrounding the school
- Bus transportation is encouraged
- Walking is encouraged, with additional time allowed due to conditions
- Extra staff will be available during arrival and dismissal
- Please allow extra travel time due to one-lane sections on Greeley
- Please do not park in the staff parking lot.
Thank you for your continued support, flexibility, and partnership. We are eager to welcome students back to school and appreciate everyone working together to ensure a safe return.
Warm Regards,
Kelly Sheers Principal
