Celebrating Black History Month

Thank you to Ms. May, Mrs. Jabour, and the student and staff helpers for their hard work and creativity in transforming our hallway. We are proud to recognize the contributions of Black people to our country and our world.  

Key MS Sports Information Attention Parents!! If you would like your student to participate in Middle School Track, your student must be registered through the MS Sports Registration Link for Spring 2026.   MS Sports Registration Link for Spring 2026. Again, as always, students are not allowed to practice with the school until all of the initial Big 3 steps below are complete and correctly submitted. Online Registration- filled in by the family for each student.  (siblings completed separately for everything) PPE- NEW Forms- Families need to turn in at least pages 1,2,3.       ANY physical done on or after July 1st, 2025, must be on the NEW forms.  Old forms dated before July 1st, 2025, will not be accepted    (Additional information and guidance here.  Please read) Emergency Care Form- Same form.  No Changes.  Fresh form must be completed for every student- every season.

Key MS Multicultural Night Info

Celebrate Our School’s Cultural Diversity at Key Middle School! 

When: March 25th. From 6-8 pm at Key Middle School

Join us for a Multicultural Night, an exciting evening where students, families, and staff come together to explore and celebrate cultures from around the world. Enjoy a vibrant experience featuring cultural booths, food, arts and crafts, music, and live performances and more that reflect the richness of our school community.

We encourage everyone to participate. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our students and families to learn about one another, build connections, and celebrate what makes our community unique. Families are welcome to represent their country, state, heritage, or cultural background.

Four Ways to Participate: Use the QR code on the flyer or the participant sign-up form below.

Cultural Booth: Host or participate in a booth that showcases an aspect of your culture, such as traditions, clothing, history, food, or customs.

Cultural Food/Dish: Share a traditional dish or snack that represents your culture.

Art & Craft Workshops: Lead a hands-on workshop featuring cultural arts and crafts such as origami, henna-inspired art, cultural heritage art or other creative ideas.

Performance & Demonstration: Share your culture through music, dance, storytelling, poetry, or other live demonstrations. Students, families, and staff are all welcome to participate.

If you would like to host a booth, provide food, lead a workshop, or participate in a performance, please sign up by answering the questions in the attached form. All questions are required; However, if a question does not apply to you, please select, or enter “N/A".

2026 CTE Summer Academy

CTE (Career and Technical Education) Summer Academy is a weekly enrichment program that allows students to dive deeper into CTE program areas, and encourages skill development and career exploration.

Students choose 4 classes each week they participate and learn new content, discover interests, and build their skills.

• Eligibility: Current 6 to 11 graders
• Time - 8:30 am to 2 pm* *Early drop off begins at 7:30 am; after care ends at 5 pm

New to 2026! We’re offering after care!

• Location - Robinson SS
• Transportation from select FCPS schools is provided!
• Cost - $300 per week Back for 2026 programs, we will be offering tuition assistance. More information on our webpages.

Students will choose four (4) classes each week to build their own specialized summer learning program. Courses are available in all CTE program areas: Business and Information Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health and Medical, Marketing, Technology and Engineering, and Trade and Industrial.

Classes offered through CTE Summer Academy are introductory and do not require previous knowledge of the content.

Weather Closings

Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather closing decisions are made at FCPS. 

FCPS’ website is generally the first place to find out about emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible, including email, text, social media, the new FCPS mobile app, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated.

Be sure to plan for the winter season. Update your contact information in SIS ParentVUE, bookmark the FCPS website, and arrange emergency child care if needed.

⛄ Keep Your Child Warm During Outdoor Activities

We will monitor the weather for low temperatures, wind chill advisories and warnings, and weather advisories that may prevent children from being outside. Make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat and other cold-weather clothing, so they can comfortably enjoy their time outdoors. View the National Weather Service’s tips on staying safe during cold weather.

If you need assistance getting cold-weather clothing for your family, please call Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222-0880. Their multilingual staff can assist with any challenges you are facing, including food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, and health.

Immunization Events

Immunization Events for FCPS Students

FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will provide school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students with no out-of-pocket costs. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations. Additional dates will be available throughout the school year. 

Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. View immunization resources on the FCPS website.

Healthy Habits to Reduce the Spread of Flu and Other Germs

Fairfax County is seeing very high levels of influenza (flu) illness. Visits to emergency departments and urgent care centers for flu-like illness have increased, especially among children, and multiple flu outbreaks have occurred in our community and school settings.

Consider these tips from the Fairfax County Health Department to help reduce the spread of flu and other germs.
