Message from Dr. Khoshaba
Greetings, SoCo family,
Last weekend’s historic snowfall and lingering ice kept our community home all week, and while the pause was necessary for safety, we know it disrupted routines for students, families, and staff alike. I’m grateful for your patience and flexibility as we navigated an unusual week together. Because we were out of school all week, this newsletter will be briefer than usual, but no less heartfelt, as we look ahead to getting back into classrooms, reconnecting as a community, and returning to the rhythms that make South County such a special place.
Student and Staff Belonging
SoCo on It’s Academic! We’re excited to share that our students recently taped an episode of It’s Academic, and their episode premieres today! We are incredibly proud of the way they represented South County High School with their knowledge, teamwork, and poise. You can watch the show now on YouTube using the link below. We encourage our entire SoCo community to tune in, cheer them on, and share the link to help increase viewership.

Thank you for supporting our students and celebrating their hard work and achievement. Go SoCo!
Final Week to Purchase International Night Tickets! International Night, one of South County’s most anticipated events of the year, is almost here! This upcoming week is the final opportunity for SoCo families to purchase tickets before sales open to the general public on Monday. To guarantee your seats, we strongly encourage you to purchase tickets before then, as both shows sell out every year.
https://www.etix.com/ticket/v/15597/south-county-high-school-theatre
International Night will take place on February 7 with two performances:
- 12:00 PM – designed especially with families in mind
- 5:00 PM – open to the entire community
Each show will run approximately 2½ hours. New thi
s year, ticket buyers can select their exact row and seat, rather than general admission, making early purchase even more important.
Don’t miss this incredible celebration of culture, talent, and SoCo pride; secure your seats while they’re still available!
Taking It To the Mat!
I want to commend our SoCo wrestling team for taking Mother Nature to the mat and squeezing in a quad meet just hours before the snow hit last Saturday. With schedules tightening and conditions uncertain, our wrestlers stayed focused, prepared, and ready to compete. That ability to adjust on the fly speaks to the grit, discipline, and mental toughness that define the sport of wrestling. Well done to our wrestlers and coaches for pinning down the moment and representing SoCo with Stallion pride.
As we dig out from this latest blast of snow, we’re hoping the weather gives us a well-deserved thaw and puts the shovel away for good. Here’s to clear roads, clear skies, and no encore performance from winter.

College Partnership Program
College Partnership Program (CPP)
The College Partnership Program focuses on closing the opportunity gap by preparing students for college readiness and success through academic advising, college visits, family engagement and preparation beyond high school. CPP’s goal is to ensure that students capable of completing a college preparatory path will: succeed in rigorous curriculum, actively participate in the school community, enroll in a four-year college or another post-secondary program, and become responsible participants and leaders of society.
Would you benefit from the following elements?
- Attending monthly meetings during Stallion Time to learn about colleges, careers, and a variety of pathways to postsecondary success
- Going on field trips to visit colleges and universities
- Getting and staying motivated to succeed in school

- Current GPA of 2.5 or above
- Determined to go to college
- Willing to take some advanced courses and put in the necessary work
