LearnDash 5.0 finally here! 

This release upgrades the foundation of LearnDash — most notably, taking the REST API out of beta. For most of you, your day-to-day won’t look different. But under the hood? You’re now on a more stable, more predictable, and future-ready platform that supports stronger integrations and fast innovation going forward. 

For developers and agencies, this means a production-ready API you can confidently build on. For all users, it means a more reliable platform today and quicker access to improvements in the future.

LearnDash 5.0 also lays the groundwork for optional AI-powered workflows through our new Model Context Protocol (MCP) foundation. This infrastructure enables LearnDash to connect with AI tools in a secure, opt-in way — without changing how LearnDash works if you choose not to use it.

What this means for you

• Developers & agencies: Review the REST API and OpenAPI updates if you maintain custom integrations.

• Power users: If you rely on custom code or advanced add-ons, we recommend testing the update on staging first.

• Everyone else: You can update as usual — LearnDash will behave the same, just on a stronger foundation.
