La Sociedad de la Cumbia is a musical and theatrical experience that brings together more than 25 artists on stage, including musicians, dancers, and actors. Produced for the third consecutive year in 2025, the project is set in a fictional venue called Club Mariscal. The experience transports audiences to Medellín in the 1950s, a period marked by industrial growth, cultural effervescence, and the golden age of orchestral Caribbean music.
Squama, an award-winning body jewelry project by Mehrnaz Zarrin Hadid, originates from a fundamental inquiry: can technique itself operate as a generative design machine? Rather than treating design and fabrication as separate phases, Squama investigates them as a continuous, intertwined process, where geometry, material behavior, and fabrication logic evolve simultaneously. This approach moves beyond surface ornamentation, positioning technique as an active driver of aesthetics and design intelligence.
This project is an educational Class-A surfacing study developed in Rhinoceros, using a faucet form as a controlled geometric framework rather than as a finished or fabricated design. The objective was not to produce a market-ready object, but to deepen technical understanding of NURBS surface logic – particularly how surface continuity, reflection behavior, and control-vertex structure interact during complex surface transitions.
