The Adventurist newsletter

Hi, friends!

While I'm more of a summery adventurer, I did quite enjoy my afternoon of snow tubing at Colorado Adventure Park in Fraser recently. For those of you who are waiting for fresh powder to hit the slopes, this may be your weekend.

Heads up

A major snowstorm is expected to dump over a foot of powder in Colorado's mountains through Saturday. It may make high-country roads difficult, so please drive with caution. Denver, unfortunately, isn't forecast to see much from this wave with weekend temps hitting highs in the 50s.

Worth Your Time

The webcam focused on the snow stake at the top of Aspen Mountain not only informs skiers and snowboarders how much snow has fallen in the previous 24 hours (left), snow is allowed to collect on the right side from the beginning of a storm to the end if it is a multi-day event. The webcam also allows viewers to watch the previous 24 hours in time-lapse. (Provided by Aspen Snowmass

Will your favorite ski resort get snow this weekend? Here’s every major snow stake webcam in Colorado.

Skiers can get the latest snow report with a touch of a button on their phones these days, but nothing beats watching snow pile up on a traditional snow snake, which is why Colorado’s ski resorts keep them around — and film them with 24-hour webcams.
