Weekly Wave: February 13

Principal's Message

Dear Lake Anne Families,

It’s been wonderful to have a full and consistent week of learning! Our students are starting the third quarter strong and are fully engaged in their classrooms. We enjoyed celebrating the 100th day of school today—a special milestone that marks 100 days of learning, belonging, and partnership.

As we reflect on 100 days of school, we are reminded how important each day is. Thank you for supporting strong routines at home and ensuring your child arrives on time and ready to learn. Currently, our school’s chronic absenteeism rate is 13%. Our goal is to reduce that number to below 10%. Consistent attendance plays a critical role in student achievement, confidence, and connection to school. If your family needs support with attendance, please reach out—we are here to help.

On Wednesday, February 18th, we will have our next three-hour early release. Please check your email for this month’s early release dismissal confirmation for your child(ren). Students will follow their typical Wednesday dismissal plan unless a change of dismissal was submitted to the front office. Today is the final day to communicate any dismissal changes. After today, we will not be able to accommodate changes as we prepare to ensure a safe and smooth dismissal for all students. Our priority is ensuring every Dolphin gets home safely and at the correct time.

Please also note there will be no school on Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day and no school on Tuesday due to a Teacher Workday. We look forward to welcoming students back after the long weekend refreshed and ready to learn.

Warmly,

Mrs. Jill Stewart, Principal

Mrs. Valencia Chenier, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Leslie Grumbach, Assistant Principal
