A Message from Principal Goldstein

Sam Goldstein

Dear Fairview Families,

Today we reached an exciting milestone — the 100th day of school! Our students and staff had so much fun celebrating this special moment in the school year.

Across the building, classrooms marked the day in creative and joyful ways. Reaching the 100th day is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate perseverance, learning, and community. I am so proud of our students and grateful to our teachers for creating meaningful and memorable experiences.

As a reminder, Monday is a holiday and schools will be closed. Tuesday is a Teacher Workday, and there will be no school for students. We look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday, February 18.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Enjoy the long weekend with your families!

Warmly,

Samantha Goldstein

Principal

Fairview News

Fairview Recess!

sixth graders on the blacktop

A huge shout-out and thank you to Jim Ferugio and the Ferugio family for their incredible hard work at Fairview Elementary!

With the recent break in the weather, our students have been itching to get some fresh air. Thanks to the Ferugios volunteering their time and equipment to clear off the blacktop, our kids are finally back outside, moving, and enjoying the sunshine.

We are so lucky to have such dedicated families who step up to make our school a better place. Your efforts have brought a lot of smiles to the playground this week!

Upcoming Student Experience Survey at Fairview

Our school will participate in the FCPS Student Experience Survey. This survey will gather important feedback from students about their school experiences to help FCPS make meaningful improvements.

All students in grades 3-6, except those who have opted out, will receive a link to the survey in their FCPS email on February 23. We will administer the survey during the school day on February 26, 2026. Any student may take the survey at home, if they are unable to take the survey during the school day. You received a communication with details on how to preview the survey and opt your child out, if you choose. The electronic opt-out form can also be accessed at this link. The last day for parents to opt-out of the survey is Friday, February 13, 2026.

We believe it's important to hear from our students about what we're doing well and where we can improve. This work also aligns with the equity commitments in FCPS’ 2023-30 Strategic Plan, which include a focus on amplifying student voice and experiences as we work toward meeting plan goals.

Wednesday, February 25, 2026 Three Hour Early Release

Hello Fairview Families! In order to ensure your child is dismissed accurately on the Early Release Wednesday, February 25, 2026, please make sure to update Pickup Patrol for your child's dismissal plan for February 25th.

  • If you are requesting that your child stay until 3:55pm, you will need to select the: "Stay Early Release Wednesday 2/25/26 until 3:55" option in plan changes for February 25.
  • If you want your child to dismiss at 12:55pm, you may leave your child's default plan as is, or make a plan change and put "dismiss at 12:55pm" in the notes.

Please contact FairviewESCommunications@fcps.edu, for any questions.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
